The Coffee Diet

For many centuries, coffee has enticed millions of human beings that choose to be with it until their last breath. With the varieties of wide array of coffee types that are now available in the market, it has been more difficult for coffee lovers to resist the coffee temptation. Espresso, lattè, mocha java, cappuccino, and many other sorts of coffee blends make it more complicated to not indulge.

As far as dieting is concerned, there are no hard and fast programmed diets that incorporate coffee. In fact, the famous Atkin’s diet and other low-carb diets don’t encourage the intake of coffee while into the diet program because it can affect the body’s  blood sugar, which can directly impinge on the body's capacity to burn fat. Although coffee itself is supposed to be a low-calorie (or even zero calorie), the raising of blood sugar level is brought about by the caffeine component of the coffee.

Much to the chagrin of the coffee lovers, of course they won’t take this thought just sitting down. Coffee lovers would want to be able to go through diet programs normally by still taking a dose of their favorite cup of coffee, research have shown that exercise can stabilize blood sugar level anyway, so that’s what they’d do. Nonetheless, it is not impossible for them to create coffee-infused diets in the future.

Coffee and dieting

Coffee is by far an ideal food to spoil yourself with as it has no cholesterol, it’s low in, and it has just a trace of some nutrients such as fiber and protein. When some say that coffee is fattening, it is not entirely true. Coffee just becomes a definite no-no on a dieters list when it is combined with other fancy fattening ingredients like cream, caramel, milk, too much sugar, syrups, flavorings, and the like. In order to consider coffee as a not-so-sinful drink, you must go back to basics.

Diet authors have always had issues against too much caffeine intake while under a diet program. They won’t be discouraging coffee intake for nothing. But for the dieting coffee lovers who just simply can’t live without their daily dose, it’s best to compromise. Since too much caffeine affects the blood sugar, it is advisable to take lesser amounts of coffee and avoid taking in food considered as simple carbohydrates (like donuts, bagels, etc).

It is also best to exercise when you are an avid coffee drinker, and dieting at that. Needless to explain, exercise greatly helps when one is trying to lose weight. Aside from that, exercising can be a coffee drinker’s best justification to stabilize blood sugar. Making the body more active helps the body utilize the insulin more efficiently which in turn lowers down the blood sugar.
